Jun Muay Thai camp in Lamai (Maret): drop-in 300 THB, 7,000 THB a month, morning and evening classes Mon-Sat, seven on-site room options. Checked Oct 2026.
Jun Muay Thai is a traditional muay thai camp in the Maret area behind Lamai Beach on Koh Samui’s southeast coast. It runs group classes Monday to Saturday (morning and evening), closed Sundays, with a daily drop-in of 300 THB (~8.50 USD) and seven on-site room options. The gym says it is led by Jun, a former fighter, and his team. Its own site also lists yoga, Thai language classes, fitness and weight-loss programmes alongside the boxing.
Key facts: Open-air gym in Maret, Lamai · Mon-Sat, morning 7:30-9:30 and evening 16:30-18:30, closed Sun · Private lessons 9:00-15:30 · Drop-in 300 THB (~8.50 USD), monthly 7,000 THB (~200 USD) · Seven on-site room options, budget to high end
Group classes run Monday to Saturday in two blocks: mornings 7:30-9:30 and evenings 16:30-18:30, per the gym’s own site (checked 1 October 2026). Sessions cover running, shadow boxing, bag work, pad work, clinching, kicks, knees and conditioning. Private lessons can be booked between 9:00 and 15:30, the window group-only camps leave empty. Sunday is closed.
The gym lists “2 full size rings, 14 bags, 11 sit up benches, 7 punch tyres” and floor mats under an open-air roof with high ceilings and fans, not an air-conditioned hall. Two rings let a group class and a private lesson run side by side. An on-site shop sells Twins brand equipment, and the gym also offers motorbike rental.
The site names Jun as a former fighter but does not publish other trainers’ records or certificates, so ask at the camp if a coach’s competition background matters to you. The gym also states it was named “Best Gym on Koh Samui 2014” by Petchbuncha Stadium; that is the camp’s own claim, so treat it as marketing.
Jun Muay Thai’s own price list, checked 1 October 2026, states: “the price quoted above is what you pay, we do not add any hidden fees.”
| Option | Price |
|---|---|
| Daily group session | 300 THB (~8.50 USD) |
| Morning plus evening, one day | 500 THB (~14 USD) |
| Weekly (mornings or evenings) | 2,000 THB (~57 USD) |
| Two weeks | 4,000 THB (~114 USD) |
| Monthly | 7,000 THB (~200 USD) |
| 6 months | 25,000 THB (~714 USD) |
| 1 year | 50,000 THB (~1,429 USD) |
A private lesson costs about 700-800 THB (~20-23 USD) an hour: the gym’s pages show 700 THB in one place and 800 THB on the prices page, so confirm when you book. Fitness-gym access is priced separately by an affiliated gym.
The camp offers on-site lodging with “7 room options … ranging from cheap to high end.” Nightly rates and room photos are not published on the gym’s own site, so ask what is free for your dates before committing to a multi-week stay. Sleeping at the camp matters most if you train twice a day: the walk from bed to ring is a few steps.
Jun’s 300 THB drop-in is the lowest in our Koh Samui muay thai gyms comparison, where Lamai Muay Thai Camp is listed at about 350 THB. Wech Pinyo in Lamai charges about 400 THB a drop-in and 6,000-7,500 THB a month, so Jun’s 7,000 THB monthly rate sits in the same band. The trade-off is facility size: Jun is small and open-air, while larger camps such as Superpro Samui add a pool and more equipment.
Muay thai is the main draw, but Jun also lists yoga and general fitness, which suits visitors who want to train a few mornings a week rather than prepare for a fight. For how often to train, ask the coaches; the camp does not publish a recommended schedule.
Jun Muay Thai is in the Maret area, directly behind Lamai Beach: roughly 30-35 minutes by taxi from Samui International Airport and 20-25 minutes from Chaweng. The airport’s fixed zone fare to northern and central Lamai is about 900 THB (~26 USD) and to southern Lamai about 1,140 THB (see the airport guide). Lamai Beach is a short ride away.
The gym’s site gives the Moo 4, Maret address but no GPS pin, and third-party maps disagree on the soi and street number. The coordinates on this page mark an approximate Maret-area centroid, not the doorway. Search “Jun Muay Thai” on Google Maps or ask the camp before riding out on an unfamiliar road. The camp’s own site says it provides the address in Thai for taxi drivers.
Wat Lamai, the village temple set back from the beach strip, is a short drive from the camp. Lamai Viewpoint makes a good walk once the legs have recovered. Lamai Beach is close enough for a cooldown swim, and our Lamai area guide covers food, nightlife and where to stay.
BXB Fight Lab, also in the Maret/Lamai area, is the nearest alternative for a strength-and-conditioning room alongside muay thai. Living Muay Thai on Koh Samui covers camp culture, and our guide to Koh Samui’s muay thai trainers is worth reading before choosing a camp on credentials. If training goes wrong, our hospitals and clinics guide covers where to go.
The draw is price and setup: 300 THB for a drop-in, rooms in the same compound, a wide private-lesson window and a published no-hidden-fees price list. Training, sleeping and eating can all happen within a short walk.
The downsides: it is a small open-air camp with two rings, not an air-conditioned facility; the site publishes no phone number or GPS pin; and the private-lesson price differs between pages. First-time visitors do more legwork than at a bigger camp just to confirm where to show up.
Jun Muay Thai is in the Maret area, directly behind Lamai Beach on the southeast coast, at 164 Moo 4 per the gym’s own site. No GPS pin is published and third-party listings disagree on the exact street number, so confirm the soi with the camp or on Google Maps.
A daily group session costs 300 THB (~8.50 USD), morning plus evening 500 THB (~14 USD), a week 2,000 THB (~57 USD), a month 7,000 THB (~200 USD) and a year 50,000 THB (~1,429 USD), per the gym’s own list in October 2026. Private lessons are listed at 700-800 THB (~20-23 USD) an hour.
Group classes run Monday to Saturday, mornings 7:30-9:30 and evenings 16:30-18:30, closed Sundays. Private lessons can be booked between 9:00 and 15:30. Times come from the gym’s own site; confirm with the camp before a first visit.
Yes. The gym’s own site describes seven room options “ranging from cheap to high end” on the same compound as the training floor. Nightly rates are not published, so ask about availability and price for your dates before booking a long stay.
The camp trains all levels, from beginners to fighters, and sells single sessions from 300 THB, so a first class is low-risk. The open-air gym is small, which can mean more attention per student, but the site publishes no class-size figure, so ask when you arrive.
The gym lists two full-size rings, 14 bags, 11 sit-up benches, seven punch tyres and floor mats under an open-air roof with fans. It also has a shop selling Twins equipment and offers motorbike rental, yoga classes and Thai language lessons.
