Samui is a good place to try Muay Thai for a week or a month, though it has fewer big fight camps than Phuket or Bangkok. The gyms we cover sit in Choeng Mon, Lamai and near Chaweng Noi, and all sell single classes, so you can test one before committing to a package.

Heat and gear

Train in the cooler morning or evening blocks and drink more than you expect. Most gyms hire gloves and shin pads, but confirm first. Bring shorts you can move in, and ask about wraps.

Are there Muay Thai fights in Koh Samui?

How much does a Muay Thai session cost in Koh Samui?

A single class costs about 300 to 500 THB (8 to 14 USD): 300 at Jun Muay Thai, 400 at Yodyut, and 400 or 500 at Superpro depending on the page. A week is about 2,000 THB.

Can beginners and children train Muay Thai on Koh Samui?
