About this event

Samui Trail is a trail running event on Koh Samui on 7 and 8 November 2026, with distances of 55, 25, 15 and 7 kilometres. The start is at Phawanaphothikhun College in Na Mueang. It belongs to the 4KINGs trail series, and the race has been held before: results from the 2025 edition are on the international trail-running results database.

The organisers list finisher medals, an event t-shirt, cash prizes, timing chips, drink and nutrition stations, medical assistance, a bag drop and toilets. The route description speaks of southern forest, hill terrain and cooler, misty air near the tops. The sources do not say which distance runs on which day, so check the race page for start times. The 7 km and 15 km distances give a shorter option for runners who do not want the full 55 km.

All times are Bangkok time (UTC+7).

We organize none of these events and sell no tickets. Plans change, so check the organizer's page before you go.

Sport on Koh Samui

Sport on Samui means three things. Muay Thai fights run most nights in Chaweng: Samui International Stadium on Tuesday, Friday and Sunday, Phetchbuncha on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday, with six bouts from about 21:00. The Samui Regatta, the island's longest-running sporting event, brings sailing fleets to Chaweng in late May. Running events add a half marathon starting in Chaweng, which has been held in June, and the Samui Trail in November, with distances from 7 to 55 km starting in Na Mueang. Start times are early, to beat the heat.

Around Na Mueang

Na Mueang covers Samui's southern interior and the southwest. It is known for sights rather than nightlife: the Na Muang waterfalls, Wat Khunaram with its mummified monk, and the Secret Buddha Garden, reached from Route 4169 between Hua Thanon and Na Mueang. The falls run fullest in the wet months, September to November. Laem Sor Pagoda stands at the southern tip. Events here are daytime and sporting, such as the Samui Trail, which starts at Phawanaphothikhun College.
