The Samui Summer Jazz Festival ran from 2 to 7 May 2023 with six nightly concerts at six five-star hotels.
The 2023 festival was the second after the festival's return in 2022 and ran in May, a month earlier in the year than the June 2022 edition. The festival traces back to the Samui Jazz Series and to a September 2010 festival. Saskia Laroo, who appeared in 2010 and in 2022, was among the names announced again for 2023.
The structure matched 2022: one concert per night, each in a different hotel, with the six venues named in the press. TTG Asia and eTurboNews published the programme. Because every night is at a separate resort, the setting and the arrangements for tickets, seating and dining differ from evening to evening, so check each concert's own listing. For anyone checking the record, a preview concert at Santiburi was listed before the six main nights.
The first edition after the 2022 revival, showing the jazz festival becoming annual again.

Read moreLive music on Samui is spread across the evening bar strips rather than one venue. Chaweng Beach Road has bars with house bands playing rock, reggae and pop covers, plus a small jazz club. Lamai leans towards reggae and rock bands, and Bophut's Fisherman's Village suits a quieter drink with a singer or duo. Larger club nights bring in visiting international performers, usually announced a few weeks ahead on the club's own channels. Resorts also host jazz and beach concerts now and then. Most nights start late, so expect the main acts after 22:00.
